Where do we go from here? We have a feckless and complicit congress. A large media component functioning as a propaganda machine, the likes of which haven’t been seen, since Goebbels implemented his destructive assaults on civilized society.
It has been said that during his fall from power, Nixon briefly thought about ordering the military to circle the White House to protect and keep him in power. Secretary of Defense James R. Schlesinger was prepared to bring the 82nd Airborne to Washington from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, to counter any attempts by Nixon to use force to stay in power.
Will we see a repeat of history? Will we see divided factions of support facing off in the streets? Will Secretary of Defense, James Mattis, play a role similar to the one envisioned by Secretary Schlesinger?
