Never-mind a $20M a year contract for a superstar, this relief is in the form of a young guy who loves the game, loves to compete, grabbed his chance and did it his way.
There has never been this kind of instant turnaround for a team or a city. Although the city just celebrated the superbowl with their beloved Giants, the excitement, energy and money that has been created by this young athlete is phenomenal. Attendance around the league when the Knicks come to town and attention around the world has spiked in an unparalleled way.
If the Knicks can coalesce into the great team they have the potential to become, they will be a force for some time to come. But one thing is certain– the excitement and pride New York has experienced already, can never be taken away from it.
