There were a few, myself included, who called Trump a snake -oil salesman, after he declared his bid for the Presidency in 2015. What has happened since, has been the replacement of truth and sincerity, with hokum and bunkum.
The real Trump doctrine. I will lie to you as often as necessary to keep you acquiescent. "As long as you can lie to us with a straight face, then we're with you". This is the deal Trump has made with his supporters or should we call them fans.
We find ourselves in a real "Siberian Dilemma". The Impeachment trial is scheduled for January, 2020. No one has any faith that a conviction will occur. There will not be another Impeachment proceedings against Trump in the months leading up to the election, regardless of what he might do. This is a one and done, at least in 2020.
We can only hope that he would wait untill after the election to unleash his next attack on our Democracy. He has never shown logical restraint before, therefore there is every reason to believe that we will be confronted and have to react to something unimaginable.
If the Impeachment proceedings could proceed for some time, then new charges could be added as they come to light. This we know is not in the cards. We are left with a very vulnerable year, from the end of the Impeachment trial to the swearing in of a new President next January. If there is not a new President sworn in, we are left with the unthinkable.
