The president has taken it upon himself to try to rally the American populous, by frequently mentioning millionaires and billionaires as individuals who should be paying higher taxes. Most Americans agree with this in principle. However there is some blowback to this.
It is in the American cultural fiber to admire millionaires. The term millionaires signifies the success of the American Dream in it's highest form. To denigrate this term has a negative effect on the American psyche.
The President should be calling for high income tax advantaged individuals to pay a fair and proportionate percentage of their income as one of the many measures necessary to bring our financial house in order.
